Here is a brief update on the end of Clayton Hops 2022 harvest.
Our 2022 harvest was a massive effort made possible with our team of 140 staff, 4 farms, and 3 state-of-the-art hop processing sheds. Our team worked tirelessly with day and night shifts. Harvest was "all go" 23 hours each day.
We are pleased to report that our hop aromas are excellent this year (as always) and we expect brewers to be very happy with the results.
Disappointingly, there was higher than usual cloud cover in the region leading up to harvest. As a result, New Zealand hop yields across the industry are lower this year than anticipated.
2022 was the first harvest for our newly developed Blue Rock hop farm. We were thrilled to finally see the fruits of our labour. The quality of the Blue Rock hops is excellent.
Another highlight was seeing three generations of the Clayton family and in-laws working on the farms. It's a family affair with all hands on deck at harvest.
We are so grateful to our team for their hard work. Thank you to everyone who made this year's harvest possible. We could not have done it without you.
